May 19, 2005, Montreal, Canada - Integration New Media, Inc. (INM), is pleased to announce the official release of PDF Xtra 7 for Macromedia Director®. PDF Xtra is one of the industry's leading Xtras for easy integration of Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) documents into Director projects. With this release comes the support for the now widely-accepted Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 and Adobe Reader® 7.0 software.
For five years now, PDF Xtra has been THE solution for easy integration of Adobe PDF content into Director projects. In order to provide this ease-of-use, INM has delivered an out-of-the-box solution that displays PDF files within the Director interface and leverages the look and feel of the Acrobat and Adobe Reader interface.
With this Xtra, INM was in fact, one of the first to help customers harness Adobe and Macromedia technologies together in the multimedia environment.
“Adobe PDF is virtually ubiquitous today as a means to effectively communicate via the Web or by email both inside and outside the firewall,” said Pam Deziel, director of Acrobat product marketing, Intelligent Documents Business Unit, Adobe. “Through PDF Xtra 7's support for Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and Adobe Reader 7.0, INM is ensuring that Director developers can deliver the most compelling content possible.”
INM has a proven track record of expertise in the field of Adobe PDF and Director integration, and is also the maker of the acclaimed Impressario Xtra, an Xtra that allows complete customization of the user interface and greater control over PDF document content. Director developers, with these two proven products, can therefore choose the solution that best suits their project needs: PDF Xtra 7 offers an out-of-the-box solution that uses the Adobe Reader interface, while Impressario 2 offers more advanced control over PDF file content, customization of the user interface, and higher levels of creativity.
"As multimedia developers ourselves, we realize the importance of keeping projects up-to-date with evolving technologies. We wanted to make sure that developers could take advantage of the new features of Acrobat 7.0 in their projects. In addition, by using PDF Xtra 7 from the start, developers can ensure their projects support their end users as they adopt this already widely-accepted new technology."
Gabrielle Krim, INM's PDF Xtra 7 Product Manager
