Visible Light Releases New Internet Plug-in Technology for Digital Video Applications
ORLANDO, FL (MAY 16, 2002) – Visible Light released OnStage version 4.1, an important Internet upgrade to its popular application developer's toolkit for integrating digital video playback into major authoring languages.
The new OnStage Media for ActiveX expands OnStage authoring to HTML, Visual Basic and other ActiveX-based authoring languages. An upgrade is also available for OnStage Media for Director, which now supports Macromedia Shockwave, in addition to Director and Authorware.
Applications designed with OnStage Media require no user installation, display a generic (unbranded) playback window, support MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, VOB, AVI, ASF, WMF and other media formats, plus playback on all major Windows platforms with the widest variety of DirectShow, MCI and Realmagic playback devices.
“OnStage applications may be distributed or controlled remotely over the Internet, distributed widely on removable disk, or locally on a hard drive or local area network. Although not fully designed for streaming yet, the OnStage player already supports most of the streaming formats.” says Steve Perlman, President of Visible Light. “The applications for OnStage technology are seemingly limitless.”
OnStage Media forever changes the landscape of training, education, promotion, information and entertainment. Designed for Internet, distributed media, hard-drive and network applications, OnStage Media is flexible and highly economical, with more functionality and better compatibility that any other digital video plug-in product.
OnStage Media For ActiveX and OnStage Media For Director are currently available for Windows only, and are priced at US$249 each. A testdrive of both products is available from the Visible Light web site: www.visiblelight.com
