PostScript Xtra is a scripting xtra which allows projectors to communicate with the PostScript interpreter "GhostScript". It can be used to: - export all kind of image formats (TIFF, JPG, PNG, EPS, ..., and by including additional PostScript files also SVG, DXF and SWF) - print from director - create PDFs - display PDFs and PostScript-files (*.ps) in director on systems without Acrobat Reader - display font sample sheets for TrueType (*.ttf) and PostScript (*.pfb) font files GhostScript doesn't have to be installed on the user's computer, but can be distributed with the xtra (in a separate folder 'gs' which contains a dll and several additional files).
