January 27, 2004, Montreal, Canada - Integration           New Media (INM) announced today that it has added powerful new features to its Impressarioproduct, which is broadly considered the ultimate tool for integrating Adobe® PDF documents into Macromedia® Director® movies.

Already novel because of its total integration of PDFs within Macromedia Director, unparalleled ease-of-use and the fact it requires no external applications for viewing or printing PDF documents, Impressario 1.1 now includes the following powerful new features and enhancements:

  • Support for form controls, including single-line text boxes, check boxes, and radio buttons.

  • New methods, which allow form data to be set and retrieved dynamically from Director.

  • A new Mac OS® X-flavored toolbar in the Impressario Toolbars cast.

  • New optional parameters in the Print() method allow you to control the print quality when printing on Mac.
  • Improved speed for selecting text.

  • GetSelectedText() and GetPageText() now support accented characters within the Roman character set.

  • New Free Tools and Samples

Also bundled with this release is a slew of new FREE tools and samples, including:

  • An accessibility sample, to help developers who need to create projects for those with visual and motor difficulties (based on the accessibility behaviors available in Macromedia Director MX).
  • A scrollbar castlib and sample, for inserting standard scrollbars.

  • A pop-up PDF viewer, which opens a re-sizable, moveable window with scrollbars and toolbar navigation.

  • A converter tool which facilitates the conversion of PDF Xtra projects to Impressario.

  • Impressario PDF Indexer, indexes the text in your PDF documents to enable search capabilities (requires INM's V12 Database Engine).

    • “Although it was already in a class by itself, our decision to add even more to Impressario demonstrates INM's commitment to consistently maximize the value of our product offering.

From a very complete product, and thanks to an overwhelming response we got from version 1.0 users, Impressario 1.1 has become the incumbent choice for all multimedia developers called upon to publish using the highest grade available today."

      - Vahe Kassardjian, President and co-founder of Integration New Media.
