Visible Light Releases New Internet Plug-in Technology for Advanced DVD Applications
ORLANDO, FL (MAY 16, 2002) – Visible Light released OnStage version 4.1, an important Internet upgrade to its popular advanced developer's toolkit for integrating advanced playback and control of DVD-Video content into major authoring languages.
The new OnStage DVD for ActiveX expands OnStage authoring to HTML, Visual Basic and other ActiveX-based authoring languages. An upgrade is also available for OnStage DVD for Director, which now supports Macromedia Shockwave, in addition to Director and Authorware.
Applications designed with OnStage DVD require no user installation, display a generic (unbranded) playback window, and support playback on all major Windows platforms with the widest variety of DirectShow and Realmagic DVD playback devices.
“OnStage DVD applications may be distributed or controlled remotely over the Internet as WebDVD applications, distributed widely on a DVD disk as an enhancement with web interactivity, or used locally on a hard drive or local area network. Never before have we been able to truly exploit the wide potential of enhanced DVD”, says Steve Perlman, President of Visible Light. “The applications for OnStage technology are seemingly limitless.”
OnStage DVD forever changes the landscape of training, education, promotion, information and entertainment. Designed for Internet, distributed media, hard-drive and network applications, OnStage DVD is flexible and highly economical, with more functionality and better compatibility that any other digital video plug-in product.
OnStage DVD For ActiveX and OnStage DVD For Director are currently available for Windows only. Standard Edition pricing is US$495. A Professional Edition with advanced capabilities is also available. A testdrive for each OnStage product is available from the Visible Light web site: www.visiblelight.com.
