Nebulae is a MultiUserServer application that runs on Linux, Solaris, MacOSX, FreeBSD and other Java-enabled platforms. The server is compatible with the Shockwave MultiUser protocol published by Macromedia, so movies authored for the Shockwave MultiUserServer versions 2 and 3 can connect seamlessly to a Nebulae server, without modifications. No special Xtra is required for your Shockwave movies to connect with a Nebulae MultiUserServer: Shockwave treats Nebulae connections just like regular Shockwave MultiUserServer 3 connections, using the same commands and protocols.

All Shockwave MultiUserServer messages and client commands can be used transparently with a Nebulae server, including Database Object functions. Nebulae includes a database engine, and database files are created and initialized automatically by the server. The server also implements commands not available in Macromedia Shockwave MultiUserServer, including the ability to add banned user entries and ip addresses to the database, and restart or shutdown the server remotely.

Tabuleiro has also partnered with viaVerio to offer its customers a complete solution in Nebulae MultiUserServer Hosting in Sun Solaris or FreeBSD servers. Each hosting account includes web space for your multiuser movies and pages, a pre-configured installation of the Nebulae MultiUserServer and access to Tabuleiro remote server and Nebulae administration tools, all for a low monthly fee.
